Andersen presents gift of auditorium

Foundation, its alumni and friends donate $500,000 to Kelley School of Business to support project

Nov. 15, 2001

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Andersen Foundation, along with alumni and friends of Andersen, have presented a check for $500,000 to Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. The contribution will support the school's $22 million capital campaign to construct a new Corporate and Graduate Center, an auditoria complex, and renovation of the existing Business School building.

"We have a long history of support from our alumni and friends at Andersen," said Dean Dan Dalton. "This investment will enable us to create a state-of-the-art, 150-seat auditorium to give generations of business students the information tools they will need to not only compete in the new millennium, but to lead us into the future. We are grateful to Andersen and pledge our commitment to efficient stewardship of these resources to benefit all Kelley School students, faculty, and the business community that will enjoy many learning opportunities in the new Andersen Auditorium.

"In recruiting, Andersen is at the top of the list consistently year after year, hiring more undergraduate students for full-time and internship positions than any other firm," Dalton added.

The new Andersen Auditorium will be one of five state-of-the art auditoria to be constructed in a new complex to be used by the Kelley School and other units on the IU campus. The exact location and construction schedule for the complex will be determined in the near future.

"Our goal is to help Indiana University provide the best possible educational experience to future business professionals," said Kevin H. McGauley, a partner in Andersen's Assurance practice Indianapolis office, and a 1981 Kelley School alumnus who helped lead the campaign of nearly 300 IU graduates working for the firm. "Our $500,000 commitment represents our continued longstanding support of the Kelley School. Through the years, Andersen has been proud to provide numerous gifts of time, talent and money."
