Nov. 7, 2000
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Missing Indiana University student Jill Behrman will be featured on a nationwide television show Friday (Nov. 10) on the Fox network.
"Million Dollar Mysteries" will air at 9 p.m. EST on Fox affiliates that include WXIN Channel 59 in Indianapolis and WDRB Channel 41 in Louisville. Behrman, who disappeared during a bicycle ride in Bloomington on May 31, is one of the cases covered in the 60-minute program. The 19-year-old had just completed her freshman year at IU at the time of her disappearance.
A $50,000 reward has been posted in conjunction with the case, which is being investigated by local police and the FBI. "We hope someone might see this program who could help us locate our daughter," said Eric Behrman, Jill's father and an official with the IU Alumni Association.
Numerous events have been held throughout Bloomington to raise money for the Behrman reward fund since her disappearance. Several volunteer search operations have covered the Bloomington area in hopes of finding clues to her disappearance. Police have made no arrests in the case, but the investigation is ongoing.
"We want to reach as many people as possible in hopes of developing new leads or information that can help us solve this case," said Detective Tony Pope of the Bloomington Police Department in explaining how the upcoming program can help authorities.
