INDIANA'S TOP HIGH-POTENTIAL COMPANIES AWARDED IU'S GROWTH 100 DESIGNATION

INDIANAPOLIS -- For the third consecutive year, Indiana University's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation has recognized Indiana's 100 leading high-potential companies with the Growth 100 award, given at a symposium and awards ceremony today (Oct. 8) in Indianapolis.
The Growth 100 award honors Indiana's rapid growth, high-potential entrepreneurial companies with annual sales of at least $1 million. Other factors considered in the selection process are business concepts, attributes of the market, use of technology, and the ability to sustain high growth.
The winning companies are selected through a rigorous screening process conducted by IU faculty assisted by MBA students earning academic credit. The companies' operations are analyzed with a methodology similar to a "due diligence" examination.
This year's Growth 100 companies represent a cross-section of the state. "Two-thirds of the awardees are from central Indiana, 25 percent are from northern Indiana, and the rest, almost 10 percent, are from southern Indiana," said Daniel W. DeHayes, CEI director and IU professor of business administration.
But the award-winning companies do not limit themselves to local operations. "More than 90 percent of this year's awardees see themselves as participating in a national market, and nearly one-third consider themselves globally competitive," DeHayes added.
Companies that receive the Growth 100 award are invited to join the Growth 100 Network, a membership organization offering services such as networking with peers, educational programs and seminars, and research services.
Recognition from the IU School of Business puts Growth 100 awardees in good company -- Success magazine recently named the school as one of the nation's top 25 schools for entrepreneurs.
Individuals who wish to nominate their own or another company for consideration for next year's awards should contact CEI at 812-855-4248.
