NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- With a record number of graduates receiving degrees, Indiana University Southeast will celebrate its 32nd annual commencement ceremony Monday (May 8) at 7 p.m. at the outdoor amphitheater on campus.

This year, 763 IU Southeast degrees will be conferred. Another 26 degrees will be awarded from Purdue University at IU Southeast. The figures include graduates from last December and degree candidates for May, June, July and August, who may participate in the ceremony.

IU Southeast's graduates are included in the 13,458 graduates throughout the IU system. An additional 1,636 degrees from Purdue University will be awarded on six campuses.

IU President Myles Brand will preside over the event. Other speakers include IU Southeast Chancellor F.C. Richardson; Fay Allen, this year's Distinguished Alumni Award recipient; and Adam Dickey, president of IU Southeast's Student Government Association for 1999-2000.

Another milestone besides the record number of graduates is the awarding of the 100th Master of Business Administration degree from IU Southeast's Division of Business and Economics. IU Southeast began its MBA program in the spring of 1992.

IU Southeast is one of eight IU campuses in Indiana. It offers bachelor's, master's and associate's degrees in a variety of disciplines.
