IU names 12 Kelley Scholars

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Kelley School of Business at IU Bloomington has announced the selection of 12 Kelley Scholars to begin study for the fall 2000 semester. They are:
Kelley Scholars are incoming freshmen who intend to major in business at IU Bloomington. The recipients receive tution and fees, a stipend for living expenses and other funding -- which may include internships and overseas study. The award is for four years and has an annual value of more than $11,000.
The Kelley Scholars program is funded by a $23 million gift from E.W. Kelley and his family, and ranks among the most competitive and prestigious awards offered business students at any American university.
The Kelley undergraduate program is ranked in the top five nationally, and emphasizes close interaction with faculty, academic and career advising, community service opportunities and contact with distinguished visitors. Kelley Scholars are selected for having demonstrated character, leadership and distinction, both inside and outside of the classroom.
