IUB JUNIOR ERICA CROUCH

WILL BE `PRESIDENT FOR A DAY'

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University Bloomington junior Erica Crouch will get to see firsthand what it's like to be president of a large research university when she switches places with IU President Myles Brand next Tuesday (Feb. 16).

Crouch, a member of Kappa Delta sorority and a sports marketing and management major, paid a dollar to enter her name in the drawing which would determine the winner. Her name was selected during halftime of the IU-Purdue basketball game earlier this week.

While Crouch is assuming the role of president and meeting with IU trustee members, university vice presidents and other senior-level administrators, Brand will assume Crouch's daily schedule by attending her classes and having lunch at her sorority house.

In addition to switching places with the president, Crouch's selection also entitles her to a prize package that includes two tickets to all Little 500 race events; a ride in the Little 500 pace car; Sunday brunch for two at the Indiana Memorial Union's Tudor Room; two tickets for the 1999 homecoming game; a one-year student membership in the IU Alumni Association; and five days of "A" parking stickers.

Crouch is the daughter of Jeff and Jan Crouch, 1120 Leininger Drive, Tipton, Ind.

All proceeds from money raised by the drawing are donated to IU's general scholarship fund.
