IU president to deliver State of University address Tuesday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University President Myles Brand will deliver his annual State of the University Address on Tuesday (Oct. 10) beginning at 1 p.m. CDT in the Frangipani Room of the Indiana Memorial Union. A reception will immediately follow in the East Lounge of the IMU.
During his remarks, Brand, now in his seventh year as president of IU, will focus on the future of the arts and humanities at IU. Brand will discuss strategies within the university and elsewhere that can be used to advance the arts and humanities.
Brand's address is open to the public. It also will be broadcast live on WTIU-TV. The speech will be carried live over the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications System (IHETS) and can be viewed at specific locations on all IU campuses. Additionally, it will be broadcast soon afterward on the World Wide Web at http://broadcast.iu.edu. The text of the speech will be posted Tuesday on Brand's Web site at http://www.indiana.edu/president/ and also will appear in the Oct. 13 edition of IU Home Pages.
