"Toolbox Fair" to offer assistance with community development resources

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University's Industrial Research Liaison Program and the Bloomington Economic Development Corp. will host a workshop to assist community leaders in south central Indiana with development resources.

The Toolbox Fair, being presented by the Indiana Economic Development Academy, will be beneficial to anyone interested or directly involved in economic, workforce and community development, local government, business and industry, housing, rural development and planning. It has been designed particularly for those in Bartholomew, Brown, Greene, Jackson, Jennings, Lawrence, Monroe and Owen counties.

The Toolbox Fair will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon on March 31 at the Bloomington Convention Center, 301 S. College Ave. It is sponsored by the Indiana Department of Commerce, Hoosier Energy and Cinergy.

At the workshop, the state of Indiana's plan for economic development and its expected impact on south central Indiana will be discussed. Also, there will be an opportunity to explore a variety of development resources with representatives of state and regional service providers.

The $45 registration fee includes copies of IEDA's Toolbox Guide to Development Funds and Community Economic Development Resource Guide and Cinergy's Business Expansion and Modernization Resource Guide. Registrations will be accepted until March 24.
