IU remembers Jesse Cox

Indiana University officials noted the passing of Indianapolis-area entrepreneur Jesse Cox with expressions of condolences and deep appreciation for his extraordinary and longstanding generosity and support for IU. Cox, who died May 12 at his home in Carmel, Ind., and his late wife, Beulah, have committed a total of $85 million or more to IU for scholarships for students. This represents the largest gift ever received by IU from individuals, and also the largest individual gift for scholarships.   Full Story >>

$69 million Lilly gift to increase excellence of law, music schools

Indiana University President Michael McRobbie announced today (Dec. 12) that Lilly Endowment is giving the IU Foundation two major gifts, totaling $69 million, to secure the international standing of the IU Jacobs School of Music, provide its world-class music faculty and students with a state-of-the-art studio facility and propel the IU School of Law-Bloomington to the upper echelon of public university law schools.   Full Story >>

IU's "Matching the Promise" supporting students, major building projects

Indiana University and its fundraising partner, the IU Foundation, announced Oct. 29 that they have raised $652 million toward the goal of $1 billion for IU Bloomington's "Matching the Promise" campaign. The campaign's success has already enabled the university to significantly reduce the cost of attendance at IU Bloomington for in-state students from low- and moderate-income families.   Full Story >>
