Pulitzer Prize winner H.G. "Buzz" Bissinger, author of one of the top-selling and most acclaimed sports books in history, Friday Night Lights, and contributor to Vanity Fair magazine, will headline a free, daylong seminar here on March 10 called "Investigating the Business of College Athletics."

Indiana University senior Mutsa Mutembwa has been named a 2010 Rhodes Scholar to represent her native Zimbabwe. Majoring in economics and mathematics, she will graduate in May with plans to become a financial economist. Mutembwa, one of approximately 80 Rhodes Scholars for 2010, also plays defender on IU's field hockey team. She is the 14th student from IU to become a Rhodes Scholar and the fourth student-athlete.

Sophomore wide receiver Tandon Doss, fifth-year defensive end Jammie Kirlew and senior left tackle Rodger Saffold earned All-Big Ten honors, the conference announced Monday (Nov. 23) evening. Doss collected first team accolades from the conference media and second team laurels from the conference coaches, while Kirlew garnered second team honors from both groups. Saffold was named a second team member by the coaches.

"Wacky, Wild, Crimson Style" is the theme of Indiana University's 2009 Homecoming in Bloomington. IU alumni, students, and friends are invited to nearly 20 activities taking place Oct. 9 to 17, including the 51st IU Homecoming parade.
