Fran Snygg arts award recipients announced

Indiana University's Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs has announced the winners of the Fran Snygg Endowment Fund and the Fran Snygg Grant for Artistic Collaboration. This year's recipients are Joseph Galvin from the Jacobs School of Music, and Gwendolyn Hamm, Elizabeth Shea and Selene Carter from the Department of Kinesiology in the Indiana University School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation.   Full Story >>

IU's Mohammad Torabi receives Distinguished Service Award

Mohammad Torabi, Chancellor's Professor and chair of the Department of Applied Health Science in Indiana University's School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, received the Distinguished Service Award from Eta Sigma Gamma, the National Health Education Honorary, during its annual conference held in conjunction with the American School Health Association annual meeting in Denver.   Full Story >>

IU's David Lohrmann receives national award for scholarship, work involving school health

David Lohrmann, professor of school health promotion in the Department of Applied Health Science in Indiana University's School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, has been awarded the American School Health Association's Howe Award, the highest honor bestowed on a member of the organization for outstanding contributions and distinguished service in school health.   Full Story >>

Biologist Ellen Ketterson a 2009 AAAS fellow

Indiana University Bloomington biologist Ellen Ketterson is IU's newest fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the organization announced today (Dec. 17). Ketterson is invited to attend a special ceremony at the AAAS annual meeting in San Diego on Feb. 20, 2010. Her election brings the university's total number of AAAS fellows to 38.   Full Story >>
