Indiana chief justice to address IU's winter commencement

Randall T. Shepard, chief justice of the Indiana Supreme Court, will address graduates at Indiana University's 2011 Winter Commencement on Dec. 17. Shepard is the longest-serving chief justice in the history of Indiana. Upon assuming his current position in 1987 at age 40, he was the youngest chief justice in the United States.   Full Story >>

IU's 'greenest' building, tech headquarters to be dedicated Wednesday

On Wednesday (Oct. 12), Indiana University will formally dedicate its new state-of-the-art Cyberinfrastructure Building (CIB), the latest addition to the growing IU Technology Park East at 10th Street and the Indiana State Road 45/46 Bypass. President Michael A. McRobbie will preside over the ceremony, which will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the atrium of the new building at 2709 E. 10th St.   Full Story >>

Distinguished IU scientists awarded IU President's Medal

Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie has awarded emeriti faculty members John Preer and Ting-Kai Li with the President's Medal for Excellence. The awards are among the highest honors an IU president can bestow. Preer, a distinguished professor emeritus of biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at IU Bloomington, and Li, a distinguished professor emeritus in the IU School of Medicine, received their awards Thursday (Sept. 15), in recognition of extraordinary scholarship, achievement and leadership at IU.   Full Story >>
