Lectures
David Margolick, whose new book focuses on two people featured in an Indiana University photojournalism professor's historic photograph taken during the Arkansas desegregation crisis, will kick off the School of Journalism's spring speaker series at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20. Katharine Weymouth, CEO of Washington Post Media and publisher of The Washington Post, also will speak in the series on Feb. 28.

Marcia McNutt, the first woman to serve as director of the U.S. Geological Survey, will present two lectures Feb. 6 at Indiana University Bloomington: one on fossil fuel resources, the other on earthquakes and community resiliency. The lectures are free and open to the public.

Middle East relations expert Juan Cole presented a free lecture, "Iran and the Challenge of the Arab Spring," Nov. 16 at the Indiana University Art Museum. Cole's lecture was held in conjunction with the IU Art Museum's special exhibition, "The Graphics of Revolution and War: Iranian Poster Arts," on view through Dec. 18.
