Gifts to Indiana Law
Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie Dec. 4 announced the naming of the Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington in honor of Indianapolis business and community leader Michael S. "Mickey" Maurer, J.D. '67. The school will be renamed the Michael Maurer School of Law in recognition of Maurer's longtime support for the school and his $35 million gift for law student scholarships. The scholarships will be known as the Michael and Janie Maurer Scholarships.

Indiana University President Michael McRobbie announced today (Dec. 12) that Lilly Endowment is giving the IU Foundation two major gifts, totaling $69 million, to secure the international standing of the IU Jacobs School of Music, provide its world-class music faculty and students with a state-of-the-art studio facility and propel the IU School of Law-Bloomington to the upper echelon of public university law schools.

The Elmore Entrepreneurship Law Clinic at Indiana University will be dedicated Friday, Oct. 5. The dedication will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the clinic, located on the third floor of the Lewis Building, 116 S. Indiana Ave. in Bloomington. The clinic was renamed in recognition of a $3 million gift from IU alumni David Elmore and D.G. Elmore.

Firestone Natural Rubber Company has provided $50,000 to the Indiana University School of Law to support its project to help rebuild the University of Liberia's School of Law in Monrovia. The grant will provide scholarships and help with living expenses for students from Liberia to study at Indiana Law.
