Indiana University faculty experts address issues related to upcoming state primary elections, including the importance of paying attention to early contests, the possible role of poverty as an issue in several states, the likely impact of the Citizens United court decision and the rough-and-tumble fight for the Republican presidential nomination.

Ten faculty members at Indiana University have been awarded Fulbright grants for the 2011-12 academic year. The Fulbright recipients represent three IU campuses -- Bloomington, Indianapolis and Fort Wayne -- and their research and academic activity take place worldwide.

Indiana University will mark the 20th anniversary of the Nunn-Lugar Cooperative Threat Reduction Program with a symposium Nov. 11 on the IU Bloomington campus. "Loose Nukes: Lessons from 20 Years of the Nunn-Lugar Cooperative Threat Reduction Program" will feature a discussion with Sen. Richard Lugar, co-author of the program to secure and de-activate weapons of mass destruction in the former Soviet Union.

Earlier this month, Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie announced that IU will donate a 12,000-volume research library of political science books, journals and reference materials used for decades by faculty and students to India's O.P. Jindal Global University. McRobbie also awarded the Thomas Hart Benton Medallion, the highest honor an IU president has the sole authority to bestow, to esteemed Indian economist, best-selling author and IU alumnus Narendra Jadhav.
