IU Art Museum to return painting to Berlin museum

Flagellation of Christ Painting

More than 60 years after it disappeared from a Berlin museum in the chaotic aftermath of World War II, a painting depicting the flagellation of Christ will return home. The Indiana University Art Museum will return the painting to the Jagdschloss Grunewald in a ceremony Nov. 21 at Charlottenburg Palace in Germany.   Full Story >>

Juan Cole to speak at IU Art Museum in conjunction with Iranian poster art exhibit

Middle East relations expert Juan Cole will present a free lecture, "Iran and the Challenge of the Arab Spring," at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Indiana University Art Museum. Everything's coming up Warhol this spring at Indiana University, with films, events and an IU Art Museum exhibition devoted to contemporary art and pop culture icon Andy Warhol. More than 150 photographs by Warhol (1928-1987) will be displayed in "Shot By Warhol," opening March 5 at the IU Art Museum in the Special Exhibitions Gallery on the first floor.
