Indiana University Opera and Ballet Theater at the Jacobs School of Music has announced its spring 2012 live streaming schedule. The streaming project provides an opportunity for anyone with a broadband Internet connection anywhere in the world to watch high-definition video of performances taking place on the Musical Arts Center stage.

Indiana University Ballet Theater opens its 2011-2012 season of ballet productions Oct. 7-8 with Steps in Time, a diverse display of works by three revolutionary American choreographers from the 20th and 21st centuries who have played leading roles in rejuvenating the international art of ballet.

Violette Verdy, distinguished professor of ballet at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, will receive the 2011 Jerome Robbins Award on stage at an all-Robbins New York City Ballet evening at the David Koch Theater Sept. 30. She will join 25 other former and current company ballerinas, all of whom worked with choreographer Robbins.

Just weeks after its spring ballet production in the Musical Arts Center, the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Department of Ballet presents its annual "Ballet at the BCT: The Choreography Project" April 19-20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater in downtown Bloomington. The performances are free and open to the public.
