IU Cinema premieres 'Double Exposure' collaboration featuring student filmmakers and composers

IU Cinema to host world premiere of silent film score written, conducted by Jacobs School of Music students

The world premiere of "The David Copperfield Project," a collaboration between IU Cinema and the Jacobs School of Music, will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4. The cinema commissioned IU sophomore Ari Fisher to score the 75-minute silent film, which will be performed by a 17-member student orchestra conducted by master's student Nicholas Hersh.   Full Story >>

IU students, alumna named 2012 Marshall Scholars

Indiana University students Madalyn Parnas and Miles Taylor and alumna Elizabeth Ogonek have been named 2012 Marshall Scholars, tying the university's 1995 record for highest number of recipients for the prestigious scholarship in a single year. Founded by the British Parliament in 1953 to commemorate the Marshall Plan, in which the United States helped the countries of Western Europe rebuild after the destruction of World War II, the scholarships pay for graduate study at any university in the United Kingdom.   Full Story >>

IU Jacobs School's Summer Music series presents workshop performances of new opera by P.Q. Phan

The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music's Summer Music series, a highlight of the IU Summer Festival of the Arts, will present two workshop performances of a new opera, The Tale of Lady Thi Kinh by Jacobs faculty composer P.Q.
