Ph.D. student in IU School of Education named by governor to Indiana Commission for Higher Education

Slaughter

Clayton Slaughter, a doctoral student in the Indiana University School of Education who also holds a degree from the IU School of Law, has been named to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, starting a two-year term that will expire on June 30, 2010. School of Education students at IUPUI expose teens to college, work on goals

Urban Educators

A student group in the Indiana University School of Education at IUPUI is spending a couple months this summer working with Indianapolis youth. The project's goal is to help these young people to see college as an achievable goal. The "Summer Civic Program" is the creation of the Secondary Urban Educators (SUE) student organization. Throughout the program, teens will learn about the IUPUI campus and specific schools, including the Schools of Education, Informatics and Nursing.   Full Story >>

IU Army ROTC is the best in the nation

IU Army ROTC

The Indiana University Army ROTC has been chosen as the No. 1 Senior Army ROTC program in the nation for 2007. Presented annually, the award is sponsored by The Order of the Founders and Patriots of America, a civilian organization that has been preserving patriotism for more than 100 years. IU history graduate student named Javits fellow

Alex Tipei, a graduate student in history at Indiana University, is one of 44 Jacob K. Javits fellows named this month by the U.S. Department of Education. The fellowships are awarded to graduate students in the arts, humanities and social sciences.   Full Story >>

IU student awarded doctoral dissertation fellowship

Bonnie Laughlin-Schultz

Bonnie Laughlin-Schultz, a doctoral student in history at Indiana University Bloomington, has been named a Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellow for the 2008-09 academic year. She is one of 29 students at U.S. universities to be awarded the fellowship, announced by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.   Full Story >>
