Indiana University Athletics Director Fred Glass will speak with students at the Indiana Memorial Union Market on Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. This is a free event arranged by the Indiana Memorial Union Board to allow students to contribute to the future of the IU athletics experience.

The Indiana University Advocates for Community Engagement (ACE) Program today announced the selection of 25 students charged with serving as liaisons between local nonprofit agencies and the more than 80 IU Bloomington service-learning courses during the 2009-10 academic year.

Indiana University Bloomington Provost and Executive Vice President Karen Hanson will host a campus open house next week to enable students to meet new Dean of Students Harold "Pete" Goldsmith. The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, in the Frangipani Room of the Indiana Memorial Union. All IU Bloomington students are invited.

Contrary to what many observers think, findings from a national study released today (Oct. 26) show that gathering information about what undergraduates learn during their studies is commonplace in most U.S. colleges and universities. However, the results are not always used and reported in ways that could improve student accomplishment and inform the public about institutional performance.

The Indiana Memorial Union Board is currently accepting applications for this year's Live From Bloomington (LFB) CD through Oct. 28. Artists and bands are only allowed one submission each for a fee of $10. Selected artists will be notified Nov. 10 and will have the opportunity to perform live at LFB's Club Night 2010 this spring (April 15-16, 2010).
