Work begins on second round of IU budget cuts

Indiana University has identified $29.3 million in base budget cuts but still must find another $58.9 million in one-time cuts to fully comply with mandated reductions in state aid. Kiplinger's ranks IU as a 'best value,' particularly for Indiana residents

IU's McRobbie responds to budget cut allocation announcement

Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie issued the following statement this evening (Dec. 22) after the announcement regarding budget cut allocations for the state's higher education institutions. "While we greatly regret the necessity of budget cuts of this magnitude, it remains essential that we implement them in ways that preserve and protect the quality of our teaching and research missions at Indiana University," said McRobbie. "However, no one should underestimate the very serious challenge that this deep cut represents nor the impact it will have on IU's broader contributions to the state."

IU hits $177 million in cost reductions

Indiana University has achieved $177 million in operating expense reductions as part of an ongoing university-wide cost-containment effort, university officials announced today (Dec. 16).
