The Indiana Life Sciences Collaboration Conference Series is returning to Warsaw, Ind. -- the "Orthopedics Capital of the World" -- for the second of its 2011-12 seminars on Friday, Nov. 18. Defense spending's impact on the Indiana economy has more than doubled in the past decade. More than 1,100 Hoosier companies were successful in attracting $4.4 billion in contracts from the U.S. departments of Defense (DoD) and Homeland Security (DHS) in 2010, supporting an estimated 38,600 Indiana jobs.
