IU Bloomington student team reaches quarterfinals in National Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl

Ethics Bowl Team

The Indiana University Ethics Bowl team advanced to quarterfinals of the National Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl, after winning the fall Central States Regional competition last November. This marks the fourth time IU teams have placed in the ethics competition. IU's Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions has sponsored the IU Ethics Bowl teams since 2001.   Full Story >>

Nature or nurture? This persistent age-old debate can be simply expressed: If nurture plays the dominant role in determining characteristics, then desired social change can be brought about by allocation of scarce resources. If characteristics are "hardwired" by nature, however, then it is futile to attempt to change characteristics, since nothing can change the underlying genes.   Full Story >>

Archival collection of pioneering sex researchers Masters and Johnson donated to The Kinsey Institute

The Kinsey Institute has announced the addition of the new Masters and Johnson Collection to The Kinsey Institute library at Indiana University. The collection, including a tantalizing ensemble of correspondences with researchers and others, documents decades of pioneering sex research that transformed conventional understandings of sexual response and sex therapy.   Full Story >>
