IU honors students with senior awards; students honor faculty with Student Choice Awards

IU's first Spanish and Portuguese Song Festival Friday in Frangipani Room at IMU

IU's Grupo de Teatro VIDA to present performances in Spanish in Bloomington, Indy

Indiana University's Grupo de Teatro VIDA will open its newest production -- Relaciones (Relationships), four one-act plays performed in Spanish -- at 8 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Bloomington Playwrights Project (107 W. 9th St.), with additional performances Oct. 22-23. For the first time, the group will take its production to the IndyFringe Theatre (719 E. St. Clair St.) in Indianapolis the following weekend for two 7:30 p.m. shows on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30.   Full Story >>

200 years free: IU history professors to discuss Bicentennial in Latin America

Sept. 16 marks 200 years of Mexican independence. In celebration, Indiana University's Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies presents "The Meanings of the Bicentennial in Latin America" -- a roundtable discussion featuring IU Latin American History professors Peter Guardino and Arlene Diaz. The event, which is part of the group's Latin American Research Forum, will take place from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 in the Collins Living-Learning Center.   Full Story >>

IU professor Darlene Sadlier receives award for her book on Brazilian author Graciliano Ramos

Darlene Sadlier, director of the Portuguese Program and a professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Indiana University, has won first place in the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs International Competition for best monograph on the writer Graciliano Ramos.   Full Story >>
