The Indiana Council for Continuing Education (ICCE) announced that Anya Peterson Royce, Chancellor's Professor of Anthropology at Indiana University, has been selected as Faculty Member of the Year. Jeanne Madison, director of the Lifelong Learning Program at IU Bloomington Continuing Studies, has been selected as Professional Staff Member of the Year by the ICCE.

Attendance for Indiana University's Mini University 2008 is filling at a faster rate than Mini 2007, which sold out in June last year. Those wishing to attend the popular week-long program should register at www.alumni.indiana.edu/miniu or call the Indiana University Alumni Association at 800-824-3044 or 812-855-6120.

Registrations for Indiana University's popular Mini University have topped last year's record-setting enrollment of 468, prompting organizers to close registration for the first time in the event's 35-year history in order to preserve the Mini U. experience. People still wishing to attend the week-long program, which begins June 17, should call the IU Alumni Association at 800-824-3044 or 812-855-6120 to add their names to a wait list for enrollment or to be included on the mailing list for Mini U. 2008.

Indiana University Bloomington Continuing Studies was awarded $45,000 as part of Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels' Strategic Skills Initiative, a workforce development program introduced last year. The funds will allow 50 students to complete IU Bloomington Continuing Studies' Managing in the Life Sciences certificate program over the next two years.

Indiana University Bloomington Continuing Studies plugged in to podcasting with the release of a Mini University podcast on Feb. 7. The 30-minute broadcast, a project developed in conjunction with the IU Alumni Association and produced by IU Bloomington Continuing Studies, features interviews with IU faculty who will be presenting sessions at this summer's 35th annual Mini University.
