Joining other top law schools across the nation, the Indiana University Maurer School of Law has adopted a Public Service Program, part of which will establish an aspirational level of pro bono work to be done by students. Beginning in fall 2009, students will be encouraged to fulfill 60 hours of pro bono work during their three years of schooling.

The Women's Law Caucus at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law raised more than $9,000 at its annual charity auction last weekend for two local domestic violence programs . Both Middle Way House of Bloomington, Ind., and the school's Protective Order Project will use the proceeds to continue providing services to local victims of domestic abuse.

Indiana University President Michael McRobbie announced today (Dec. 12) that Lilly Endowment is giving the IU Foundation two major gifts, totaling $69 million, to secure the international standing of the IU Jacobs School of Music, provide its world-class music faculty and students with a state-of-the-art studio facility and propel the IU School of Law-Bloomington to the upper echelon of public university law schools.
