IU's Kelley School among the Financial Times' elite MBA programs worldwide

Indiana University's Kelley School of Business made a major move upward in the Financial Times annual survey of the top 100 MBA programs in the world. In rankings released today, Jan. 30, the school rose by 27 positions into the top 50 worldwide. Kelley achieved the largest improvement of any business school in the U.S. and second largest improvement among all schools in the ranking.   Full Story >>

Karen Hanson receives President’s Medal for contributions to Indiana University

Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie presented the President's Medal for Excellence to Karen Hanson, who is leaving IU after a distinguished career that has included serving as provost and executive vice president, dean and professor. IU program and reception to honor departing Provost Karen Hanson

Indiana University will bid farewell to IU Bloomington Provost and Executive Vice President Karen Hanson on Jan. 12 with a program and reception at the IU Auditorium. The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the IU Auditorium.   Full Story >>

IU Maurer School of Law dean named interim provost

Indiana University announced today, Dec. 6, that Lauren Robel, dean of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, has been named interim provost for its Bloomington campus. She succeeds Karen Hanson, who will leave the university Jan. 31 to accept a role as senior vice president and provost at the University of Minnesota.   Full Story >>

Lecture honoring legacy of IU endocrinologist Holland draws leading butterfly geneticist

In order to understand how human color vision evolved, scientists often first try to figure out how useful such a trait is in nature. For Indiana University 2011 James P. Holland Memorial guest lecturer Adriana Briscoe, new clues to human color vision lie in the photoreceptors of butterflies. The University of California Irvine associate professor of ecology and environmental biology, noted in 2008 as one of 30 "Young Investigators to Watch" by Genome Technology Magazine, will deliver the 12th annual Holland Memorial Lecture Monday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m. in Myers Hall (Room 130) in Bloomington.   Full Story >>
