Indiana University is ranked 15th nationally and tied for third in the Big Ten with 14 recipients of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program grants, according to a recent report in the Chronicle of Higher Education. Additionally, five IU gradaute students have received Fulbright-Hays Grants. Together, they will study in 18 countries on research projects covering a variety of disciplines.

Indiana University will celebrate its international breadth with the third annual IU World's Fare, featuring international food, song, dance, exhibits and conversation on Nov. 11 (Wednesday) at 5 p.m. in the Indiana Memorial Union's Alumni Hall. Faculty, staff, students and members of the Bloomington community are welcome to join the festivities.

Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie today (Sept. 4) joined with the chief executive of the Australian National University -- that nation's top-ranked institution of higher education -- in signing a partnership agreement for the creation of a jointly operated Pan-Asian Institute. The new institute will combine the complementary academic strengths of the two universities into a single research and teaching enterprise with expertise that encompasses a broad range of Asian countries.

Kubat Tabaldiev of Kyrgyzstan traveled six thousand miles from one of the most culturally diverse sites on earth to watch members of the Ojibwe tribe perform Native American dances in Michigan. He loved the experience so much that he couldn't wait to get back home and share what he learned.
For 50 years the Leo R. Dowling International Center at Indiana University Bloomington has acted as a link for international students to student organizations and the IU Bloomington community, providing Friday coffee hours, language conversation groups, orientation activities, informational workshops and weekly concerts. This Friday (March 6), the IU and Bloomington community will celebrate at the center, which is located at 111 S. Jordan Ave., with a 4 p.m. event planned by IU students.

Voices and Visions, a consortium of six Title VI National Resource Centers at IU, led by the Center for the Study of Global Change, is being recognized for its efforts to counter misperceptions and improve understanding about the second most practiced religion in the world.
