Gary Robb, founding director of the National Center on Accessibility (NCA) at Indiana University and retired professor in the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, has received the National Park Service (NPS) Accessibility Leadership Achievement Award.

Living Well for March discusses a family approach to addressing physical activity needs of children with disabilities, early temperament and autism, and a shift away from fear and resistance concerning accessibility issues.

Much can be celebrated with the 15th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26. "Over the last 5-8 years, we have seen a dramatic shift where park and recreation practitioners are actually going beyond the minimum requirements of the law and incorporating the principles of universal design to accommodate the wide range of abilities that visitors coming to their facilities may have," said Gary Robb, executive director of the National Center on Accessibility at Indiana University.

March's tips discuss swimming and aging, Tiger Woods, golfing tips for people with disabilities and golf course operators, and a potential housing crisis involving adult children with developmental disabilities.
