The IU opera "Les Contes d'Hoffmann" opens this weekend
April 4, 5, 11 and 12, 8 p.m., Musical Arts Center, Bloomington -- Fantastical tales of love lost and inspiration found will delight Indiana University Opera Theater audiences beginning this weekend. Jacques Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann depicts a writer's romantic adventures as he searches for his true love and ultimately finds fulfillment in his artistic calling. The opera will be sung in French with English supertitles.

An IU MFA student’s passion for design is evident in a play opening next week

If Tim Borden had been on time during an undergraduate summer internship, he might not have realized his interest in scenic design. But lucky for the third-year Indiana University graduate student, he was late. Borden's passion for scenic design is evident in the production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, which opens next week.

Join the Singing Hoosiers of Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music for an annual spring concert, "A Celebration of American Popular Music," on April 5 at 8 p.m. in the IU Auditorium. This is the 58th year for this annual herald of spring.

The IU Soul Revue of Indiana University's African American Arts Institute will present its annual spring concert on Saturday, April 12. The show's theme is "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing." This year's show is a mosaic of styles, offering a wide view that encompasses funk, soul, rhythm and blues and jazz.

Every April since 1951, the Little 500 at Indiana University has marked the beginning of spring and the coming end of another academic year. This year is no different. The men's and women's bicycle races are scheduled for April 11-12 on the Bloomington campus. The Little Fifty will take place on April 10.
