To best-selling author Michael Pollan, good health begins with good food. If you want to improve your health, "eat food, not edible food-like substances." Pollan will appear at IU Auditorium Friday, Feb. 26, in a signature event of Indiana University's 26th annual ArtsWeek.

The artwork of Indiana University Bloomington alumna Lyndall Bass will soon make its way across the country -- and eventually, around the globe -- in wallets, purses, piggy banks and gumball machines everywhere. Bass created one of four designs selected for the reverse side of a 2010 Lincoln Bicentennial Penny. The new penny is being issued in recognition of the bicentennial of President Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the first issuance of the Lincoln cent.

To help new students adjust to college life while helping local causes, Indiana University's 21st Century Scholars Program launched Scholar Corps last spring. Participating students have felt a greater sense of involvement with the community and formed closer friendships with one another, said program founder Chris Enstrom, director of the 21st Century Scholars Program at IU Bloomington.
