Taliaferro honored with inaugural Big Ten Dungy-Thompson Humanitarian Award

George Taliaferro Indiana University's George Taliaferro was honored with the Big Ten's Dungy-Thompson Humanitarian Award, the conference announced Nov. 29. Ohio State's Archie Griffin was named the first recipient of the Ford-Kinnick Leadership Award. The awards recognize Big Ten football players who have achieved success in the areas of humanitarianism and leadership after their college careers have ended.  Full Story

Hoosiers crush Stetson

The Indiana men's basketball team changed the lineup to start the second half, providing a spark that resulted in a 32-5 run over the first eight-plus minutes. The Hoosiers improved to 8-0 in defeating Stetson on a day when the 1987 national championship team celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Thomas, Ewald, Replogle honored by the Big Ten

Indiana fifth-year senior middle linebacker Jeff Thomas and sophomore kicker Mitch Ewald received honorable mention All-Big Ten recognition, the conference announced Nov. 28. Junior defensive tackle Adam Replogle was named Indiana's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree. The league's coaches recognized Thomas, while Ewald was honored by both the coaches and media.

Men's cross country finishes seventh at NCAA Championships

The Indiana men's cross country team placed seventh with 257 points at the NCAA Championships for the second-consecutive season on Nov. 21 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course. Andy Bayer earned All-America honors, the second Hoosier in as many years and 26th overall in program history, placing 39th overall to pace the Hoosiers.

Outstanding fall propels Wright and Mills in the rankings

Senior Chase Wright and sophomore David Mills have risen in the individual rankings after putting together impressive fall campaigns and helping to lead the Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team to top-five team finishes in four out of five events, including a title at the Firestone Invitational.

Vavra named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week

After putting up an NCAA automatic qualifying time in the 400 individual medley, and setting a new school record in the 200 individual medley, Indiana University senior swimmer Allysa Vavra is the Big Ten Swimmer of the Week for the first time in her career, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Zeller earns third Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor

Freshman forward Cody Zeller earned his third Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor after helping the Indiana University men's basketball team improve to 8-0 on the season for the first time since 2002-03.
