The atmospheric approach: Robert Shakespeare, at the forefront of lighting design
In the beginning, there were dimmers. But in Rob Shakespeare's three decades of lighting design, he has also incorporated robotically controlled instruments, computer rendering, and "virtual scenography" -- projecting virtual sets for live productions. His most recently completed project, the IU Art Museum 25th Anniversary Light Totem, is a "beacon" to green lighting on campus, he said.
