Christopher Latournes was named Winner of the PASIC Orchestral Percussion Mock Audition. The judges included professional musicians from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony and U.S. "President's Own" Marine Band.

Nick Taylor was awarded First Place in the PASIC Marching Festival Individual Competition, Collegiate Snare Drum Category, after performing a unique solo.

Colin Hill received a Second Place award in the highly competitive PASIC Marching Festival Individual Competition, Collegiate Keyboard Category.

The IU Drumline, under the direction of Joel Brainard, performed in the College Standstill Exhibition as part of the Marching Percussion Festival at PASIC. Although this was an exhibition, the drumline was adjudicated by the nation's most reputable marching percussion teachers and arrangers.

In addition, the Indiana University Latin Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Michael Spiro, was featured in a special performance for the Hall of Fame Celebration, earning a standing ovation.

The convention flourished under the leadership of Jacobs Professor Steve Houghton, current president of PAS. Houghton's efforts, which began a year before the event, included the development and unveiling of the new Rhythm! Discovery Center museum in Indianapolis, presiding over the PASIC Hall of Fame Celebration and introducing additional prestigious activities during the convention.

PASIC is the largest percussion event in the world, featuring more than 150 concerts, clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels and presentations. The finest artists from across the globe are invited to present and perform at the convention, which showcases all areas of percussion, including drumset, marching, keyboard, symphonic, world, recreational, education, music technology, new music and health and wellness.
