Senior Salute is the largest graduation party on the IU Bloomington campus. Hosted by the IU Student Alumni Association and the IU Alumni Association, Senior Salute congratulates all graduating students and introduces them to multiple ways to stay connected to IU long after graduation.

IU schools and academic departments, alumni groups, and affiliate groups will have the opportunity to connect with IU's newest graduating class at this event. All students graduating in 2010 -- including undergraduate, graduate and professional students -- are invited to attend.

This year's event features a themed contest called "Senior Moments." Ten game pieces that reflect typical humorous experiences of IU students will be distributed on campus by SAA this month. Brochures containing the Senior Moments board game can be found at several Indiana Daily Student stands across campus. Any graduating student who brings the full set of 10 pieces and the board game brochure to Senior Salute will be entered into a drawing to win a "Hoosier Dream Experience."

Details of the dream experience are still being finalized. Students interested in entering the contest should follow the Senior Moments Facebook fanpage at www.facebook.com/iu2010 for tips on how to get each of the board game pieces. Any questions should be directed to iusaa@indiana.edu.

Senior Salute will also feature free food from Bruster's Real Ice Cream, Bucceto's Smiling Teeth, Buffalouie's, Monroe County Pizza and Papa John's; live music by Dave and Rae; and games including cornhole and volleyball. Door prizes include a life membership to the IUAA (a $395 value), an official IU ring, Chipotle gift cards and a diploma frame. Attendees may fill out a form to receive their free one-year IUAA membership.

The first 1,000 seniors in attendance will receive a free IU Class of 2010 commemorative glass and gifts from their school. Graduating students must present their student ID cards to be eligible for prizes and gifts.

IU President Michael A. Mc Robbie, IU Foundation President and CEO Gene Tempel, IU Student Foundation President Kyle Mauch and SAA President Heather Schaefer will make appearances. In addition, there will be a tree dedication ceremony with IU Bloomington Provost and Executive Vice President Karen Hanson and IU men's basketball head coach Tom Crean.

Major sponsors of Senior Salute include the Indiana Memorial Union, IU Credit Union, IU Foundation, Liberty Mutual, Marsh Insurance, and the IU Alumni Association.

One of the largest and most active student organizations at IU Bloomington, the SAA sponsors student leadership initiatives and events such as Homecoming, Networking Nights, Leadershape IU and business-etiquette programs.

The IU Alumni Association is dedicated to serving the university and its diverse alumni, students, and friends. As one of the nation's largest alumni organizations, serving nearly 530,000 graduates worldwide, the IUAA provides many programs and services to its members, nonmember alumni and the university.
