Media advisory:

Ford president available to talk with the media while visiting IU's Kelley School

Editors: Nick Scheele, president and chief operating officer of Ford Motor Co., will present the keynote address at the dedication of the new Graduate and Executive Education Center at Indiana University Bloomington. The building, the new home for graduate education programs and research centers in IU's Kelley School of Business, will be dedicated in a ceremony that begins at 2 p.m. Friday (Nov. 22) at the center, located at the corner of 10th Street and Fee Lane.

Scheele has agreed to meet with representatives of the news media after the program. The media availability will begin at 3:30 p.m. in room CG3074, which is located on the third floor of the building and to your right as you exit the elevator. He welcomes the opportunity to meet with area media and talk about Ford's partnerships with IU and the Kelley School, as well as other topics on the minds of Indiana journalists.

Scheele has been president and COO of Ford Motor Co., since October 2001. He is responsible for the company's global automotive business. Before taking his current position, he had been group vice president of Ford North America and chairman of Ford of Europe. He is credited with having directed the increasingly successful transformation of the business.

Arrangements have been made to accommodate electronic media covering Scheele's address and the dedication ceremony. The university is professionally recording these events for presentation on the Web beginning next week at https://broadcast.iu.edu. Media who are unable to send reporters can request broadcast-quality video that can be picked up later Friday at WFYI-Channel 20 in Indianapolis. Please contact George Vlahakis at 812-855-0846 (office) or 888-514-3889 (pager) if you are interested. WFYI's 24-hour phone number for professionals is (317) 633-7410.

In addition to the ceremony, several technology tours and demonstrations have been scheduled between 3:30 and 5 p.m. These tours, which also are open to the public, will provide you with visual demonstrations of the new building's features and innovations.
