FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jan. 22, 2008

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Monroe County Indiana University Alumni Association Chapter, together with Hoosiers for Higher Education and the Student Alumni Association, will host a breakfast with area legislators Friday, Jan. 25.

It will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the DeVault Alumni Center, 1000 E. 17th St. Kurt Zorn, interim dean of the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs, will facilitate the proceedings, which will include time for questions from the audience.

This is a historic legislative session, one focusing on property tax reform and state government reform, said Debbie Sibbitt, director of Hoosiers for Higher Education. There are also hundreds of other issues that are being debated, many of which are related to legislation sponsored by local legislators.

Friday's informal gathering will provide an opportunity for citizens to talk about issues important to them and to Indiana University, Sibbitt said.

For reservations, contact Aimee Hansell at 812-855-5130 or ahansell@indiana.edu. Seating is limited.
