Media advisory: Chinese ambassador to U.S. to speak Friday in Indianapolis

Editors: Arrangements have been made for print and electronic media to cover Friday's (Feb. 22 ) speech in Indianapolis by Zhou Wenzhong, China's ambassador to the United States.

Zhou will speak on the topic, "China's Development and U.S.-China Relations," to more than 300 people at 9:30 a.m. at the University Conference Center at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, 850 W. Michigan St. Reporters are being asked to arrive by 9 a.m., if possible. His presentation will conclude at 10:30 a.m.

The ambassador's visit is being presented by IU's Kelley School of Business and also is sponsored by the the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) and Cummins Inc.

Registration was required and those in attendance will include Central Indiana business leaders, IU faculty and students and a class of students from the Indianapolis Public Schools.

During his visit to Indianapolis, Zhou also has meetings scheduled with Gov. Mitch Daniels; Marjorie Lyles, the OneAmerica Chair in Business Administration in the Kelley School; and Joe Xu, director of IUPUI Confucius Center. He also will have lunch with dignitaries from Cummins, Indiana state government and IU, including IU President Michael McRobbie and IUPUI Chancellor Charles Bantz.
