Sundeo Technologies joins IU Emerging Technologies Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dec. 15, 2005

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana University Emerging Technologies Center's newest tenant likes to boast that its research is "cutting edge." While the expression has become somewhat hackneyed, in Sundeo Technologies' case the claim is real and meaningful.

Sundeo President Dennis E. See invented Wearsharp, a chemical treatment that causes cutting blades to become sharper with use. See and Sundeo CEO Sam V. Florance Jr. already have $550,000 in commitments from investors. Among Sundeo's other projects: endoscopic scissors that can be used during difficult surgical procedures.

"Sundeo Technologies represents exactly the type of start-up business we're looking for," said IUETC President and CEO Mark Long. "It has a great technology and an expert management team. Sundeo is an excellent addition to the IU Emerging Technologies Center."

Sundeo's name means "to bind together," in accordance with the company's mission to combine old and new technologies to improve useful devices.

Florance was the Purdue University Gateways Program director from 1998 to 2005. See has been an engineer and manager of technologies for Delphi Automotive Products Inc. Florance and See, who are friends, like to collaborate in their off hours, too. See plays blues piano and Florance plays guitar.
