New Castle sophomore to serve as "President for a Day"

Tiffany Crowe, a sophomore English major from New Castle, has been selected to serve as "President for a Day" on Tuesday (March 5) at the Indiana University Bloomington campus.

Crowe, who is a floor governor at Willkie Quad, was selected in a drawing from those students buying tickets for the event, co-sponsored by the Student Alumni Association, Student Foundation and IU Student Association. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the IU general scholarship fund.

While Crowe is meeting with IU administrators and taking a tour of the new Theatre and Drama Center/Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center, IU President Myles Brand will be attending her regular Tuesday schedule of three classes.

Brand and Crowe will then attend a reception from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the East Lounge of the Indiana Memorial Union. The public is invited.

Members of the media seeking details about the day's schedule should contact James Tinney, managing editor of media relations, at jltinney@indiana.edu or 812-855-8773.
