Gerardo Gonzalez, dean of the IU School of Education, wrote an op-ed column about the role of education in Indiana's future. "Educators, business leaders, community members and policy makers agree that revamping Indiana's economy for the 21st century will require having a globally competitive and nationally superior work force. For an individual, more education generally means more lifetime income, more opportunities for satisfying, stable and meaningful employment, and a healthier lifestyle. For communities, a more-educated adult population means less unemployment, fewer burdens on social programs and more civic participation," he wrote. The op-ed column touts the value of the Learn More Resource Center, of which the IU School of Education is a partner.
