New family resource Web site for Hoosiers with children birth to age five

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Early Childhood Meeting Place Web site -- established and hosted by the Early Childhood Center at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community on the campus of Indiana University, Bloomington -- has added a new Family Information and Resources section devoted to providing resources for Hoosier parents of young children, birth through age five years.

The Early Childhood Meeting Place Web site, found at https://earlychildhoodmeetingplace.indiana.edu/, is a gateway to information, services and resources for Indiana's early education professionals and families. This user-friendly site provides an events calendar, program resources, early education career opportunities, news profiles of agencies and organizations.

The new pages provide a directory of family resources available in local communities, counties and throughout the state. Information sections include:

  • Community Resources
  • Child Care and Early Education
  • Health and Safety
  • Parenting and Families

Agencies or organizations providing services for families and young children, birth through age five, are encouraged to post informational materials such as posters, bookmarks, and flyers at https://www.iidc.indiana.edu/ecc/ECMP/2007MktgOrderForm.pdf

Additionally, agencies not yet listed on the Early Childhood Meeting Place, may set up an account. This is a free service and access to the site is available 24/7. E-mail eccenter@indiana.edu for more information.
