Lecture by Chinese ambassador to U.S. cancelled

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nov. 26, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- A lecture scheduled for this Thursday (Nov. 29) in Indianapolis by Zhou Wenzhong, China's ambassador to the United States, has been cancelled.

Zhou is no longer planning to visit Indiana. The reason for the cancellation is because a high-level government contingent from China also is scheduling a U.S. visit this week. The ambassador hopes to reschedule the lecture and other events in Indianapolis sometime within the next year.

His visit was being sponsored by Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) and Cummins Inc.

CIBER creates business research and study opportunities for IU faculty and students, allowing the university's graduates and partners to better compete in today's global economy. It is directed by Barbara Flynn, professor of operations management at Kelley-Indianapolis.
