Media advisory: IU Trustees to meet Thursday, discuss tuition, fees and budget

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana University Board of Trustees will meet on Thursday (July 16) in Indianapolis to conduct a public hearing on proposed tuition and fees for the next two academic years and then convene to also deliberate on a budget plan for 2009-10.

The hearing will get under way at 10 a.m. in Room 405 of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Campus Center, 420 University Blvd. Following the hearing, trustees will meet at 11 a.m. in the same location. The public will be able to view the proceedings live on the Internet at https://broadcast.iu.edu.

IU officials will outline proposed tuition and fee rates for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 academic years and describe how these additional revenues will be used to maintain and improve academic quality. Members of the public will be able to pose questions during the hearing by calling 877-750-0079 (starting at 9:45 a.m. Thursday) or sending email to bdot@indiana.edu. Questions and comments also may be submitted in advance by e-mail at bdot@indiana.edu.
