Media Advisory: Commencement ceremonies at IU Bloomington

Note: There will be a brief media availability for Quincy Jones immediately after the completion of the morning ceremonies. Media who are interested in attending the availability should contact Larry MacIntyre at 812-856-1172 or lmacinty@indiana.edu. There will be no availability after the afternoon session.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Commencement ceremonies for Indiana University Bloomington students receiving bachelor's degrees will be conducted at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. tomorrow (May 8) at Assembly Hall.

Media coverage is welcome, and the ceremonies will be broadcast live via the IU Video-Link. Each session will run about 90 minutes.

Highlights of both ceremonies will be the commencement address and honorary degree award to Quincy Jones, the legendary musical composer, arranger, record and television producer, and jazz trumpeter.

Doors for the morning will open at 8 a.m., and the procession of graduates will begin at 9:15 a.m.

Doors for the afternoon ceremony will open at 1 p.m., and the procession will begin at 2:15 p.m.
