CACR announces its 2011-12 Security Seminar Series

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University's Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research begins its annual Security Seminar Series today (Sept. 1) at the Maurer School of Law.

The University of Southern California's Alefiya Hussain will deliver a presentation titled "A Collaborative Cybersecurity Experiment Design and Analysis Framework" beginning at noon. Her presentation leads off a full slate of experts in cyber and information security.

"Running for more than five years, our annual speaker series includes distinguished scholars, established practitioners, and other leading voices in the field of cybersecurity," said CACR Deputy Director Von Welch. "Our speakers come to us from around the country and cover a diverse range of issues, with topical and engaging presentations."

The Security Seminar Series typically takes place on the first and third Thursdays of every month during the academic year. Each presentation is free and open to the public, and occurs at noon in room 335 of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington. Lunch is provided. Information about each speaker and presentation is updated throughout the course of the year on the CACR website.

The Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research has been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in both Information Assurance Education and Research by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. CACR is part of the Pervasive Technology Institute at Indiana University and is affiliated with the university's Maurer School of Law.
