BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Rapper Mac Miller will perform at Indiana University at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 12.

Sponsored by Union Board and Prime Social Group, the show at IU Auditorium is part of Miller's Macadelic Tour to promote his album "Blue Slide Park."

Tickets are available now from the IU Auditorium Box Office, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or online at www.IUauditorium.com.

"This isn't the first time Mac Miller has been in B-town. He played here last December, and opened for Wiz Khalifa at Little 5," Union Board marketing director Brad Domash said. "Mac loves Bloomington and always brings a lot of energy here. Plus, he's on top of his musical game right now, so this performance will be better than ever."

Born in Pittsburgh, Miller began recording in 2007 as part of rap duo The Ill Spoken. In 2009, he began recording solo tracks and, by July 2010, he'd signed with Rostrum Records. His debut album with Rostrum, "KIDS," took the Internet by storm and launched him into national stardom. He continued to promote and tour throughout 2010 and released "Best Day Ever" in March 2011. The video for the first single released from that album, "Donald Trump," has reached more than 27 million views on YouTube.

Real estate mogul Donald Trump, who is referenced in the song, acknowledged the video on Twitter when it reached 20 million views, saying, "Who wouldn't be flattered?" Calling Miller the "new Eminem," Trump said he was "very proud of him."

Miller's selling power was showcased in 2011, as "Blue Slide Park" debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, with first-week sales of 144,000 copies.

Performing with Miller will be The Cool Kids, a Chicago-based group consisting of rappers Chuck Inglish and Mikey Rocks, and The Come Up, a Pasadena, Calif.-based rap group.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Prime Social Group is a promotional company that has worked with Tiesto, Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa, Steve Aoki and other top artists. Union Board is the largest programming body on the Bloomington campus. The board, which also serves as the governing body of the Indiana Memorial Union, strives to organize a diverse range of events and activities around which students may come together. The organization plans concerts, lectures, debates, musicals and more.
