BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University will host its Second Annual School of Continuing Studies Day at the statehouse on March 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A luncheon and recognition program will begin at 11:30 a.m., with all activities being held in the North Atrium.

Representatives from the IU School of Continuing Studies and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development will visit the statehouse to educate legislators about the contributions the SCS and IDWD have made to the state's economic development efforts.

This year's events will feature exhibits, a catered lunch and a noon awards ceremony. Three state government representatives will be recognized for their collaborative work with the SCS: Mark Hollman, IDWD director for Unemployment Insurance Modernization Business Transition and Training; William Miller, IDWD commissioner; and Andrew Penca, IDWD director for Career Services. The newly appointed SCS dean, Daniel Callison, will present the awards and describe how the school promotes educational and economic opportunities around the state.
