BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Official fall enrollment figures were released today (Sept. 7) for Indiana University's eight campuses. This university-wide enrollment is the second highest in the university's history, with the record total set in the fall of 2003-04 at 99,164 students.

At IUPUI this was the twelfth straight year that the credit-hours-taken total set a record. The overall totals show increases in students and credit hours taken on all campuses except IU Northwest, where numbers dropped only slightly. The biggest jump for enrollment was at IU Kokomo, and the largest increase for credit hours taken was at IU East.

Overall enrollment figures also show that minority enrollment has gone up, with a 1 percent increase for African American students, a 0.9 percent increase for American Indian students, a 7 percent increase for Asian American students, and a 5.1 percent increase for Hispanic students.
