Indiana University diversity committees to meet

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oct. 13, 2008

GARY and RICHMOND, Ind. -- Two Indiana University diversity committees are scheduled to meet in coming days. The IU Northwest Diversity Annual Report Committee will meet Wednesday (Oct. 15) from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Library Conference Center, Room 110, on the Gary campus. The IU East Diversity Committee will meet next Monday (Oct. 20) from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Community Room of Whitewater Hall on the Richmond campus.

The Indiana Code requires that similar committees be formed on all campuses to review and recommend faculty employment policies concerning diversity issues; review faculty and administration personnel complaints concerning diversity issues; make recommendations to promote and maintain cultural diversity among faculty members; and make recommendations to promote recruitment and retention of minority students.
