IU Diversity Committees to meet in December

Nov. 25, 2008

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University Diversity Committees are scheduled to meet on four campuses in December.

On Monday (Dec. 1), the IU Kokomo Diversity Committee will meet at 9 a.m. in the Bogle Room (KO130) of the Main Building on the Kokomo campus, and the IU Bloomington Diversity Committee will meet at 3:30 p.m. in the Charter Room of the Indiana Memorial Union on the Bloomington campus.

On Dec. 10, the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Diversity Management Group will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. in AO 103 on the Indianapolis campus, and on Dec. 11, the IU Northwest Diversity Annual Report Committee will meet from 1-2:30 p.m. CST in Library Conference Center 115 on the Gary campus.

The Indiana Code requires that similar committees be formed on all campuses to review and recommend faculty employment policies concerning diversity issues; review faculty and administration personnel complaints concerning diversity issues; make recommendations to promote and maintain cultural diversity among faculty members; and make recommendations to promote recruitment and retention of minority students.
